Ulrika Sandström SS/11 Collection

Typical late 80s meets 90s, but with a unique Ulrika Sandström twist. Thus would describe perfectly “DNA”,
the spring/summer collection for 2011.

Inspired by her own childhood memories of pouring over mailorder catalogues in her parent’s living room in the suburbs of
Stockholm, the collection brings to mind music videos of 80s lore. Among this season’s musical inspirations were Howard Jones, Yazoo and Siouxsie and the Banshees, and the “more is
more” spirit of the decade.
Classic meets street in sharp and elegant cuts combined with feminine draping, delicate ruffles and sparkling bright colours mixed with wearable black and grey.
Key looks include a block-letter print cotton bustier dress, a strong-shouldered oversized black jacketand a playful dove-blue jumpsuit. In the collection we find trousers, skirts, shorts and
jackets in cotton; tops, dresses and jumpsuits in a beautiful sand
crêpe and printed tops in light jersey - all wearable, easy materials
for a carefree yet stylish summer
